Some announcements regarding the Pygoscelis Papua Linux AMIs that will start in January 2015:

There will be a 12 month rolling wave for AMIs. So the 2015-01 release will come and the 2014-01 release will be retired. (Updated 2016-09-01 This rolling wave is now 3 months, keeping the two recent builds). The retired AMIs will remain on us-east-1 for archival purposes. If you wish to copy any of the old images, our articles HowTo: Copy EC2 EBS AMIs Between Accounts and HowTo: Move an EC2 EBS AMI From One Region to Another may be of use.

Due to the fact that all instance types can run 64-bit AMIs and all the instance types that can run 32-bit AMIs are considered previous generation, only the 64-bit paravirtual and hvm images will be produced. You will still be able to use the bootstrapper to make 32-bit images though, see Pygoscelis Papua Linux: Bootstrapping for more.
